I created this web page to help you find real business opportunities.

But word of caution!  Don't just blindly jump into any opportunity that looks promising.  The most important thing you can do when deciding about starting your own business, is to find something that is going to make you a profit.

You may have heard that the most important thing you can do when looking for a business opportunity is to find something that you love or are passionate about.

That's great, if you're looking for a hobby. (Personally, I don't know too many people who make good money from their hobbies - although there are some.)

But here's my advice: First of all, think about what you REALLY want. Why do you want to go into business for yourself?

• Do you want the freedom?
• The ability to take charge of your future and be responsible for what you're able to accomplish?
• Do you want to be able to spend more time at home with your family?
• Do you want to take exotic vacations, live wherever you want?
• Buy a new house or a new car?

Whatever your reasons for going into business for yourself, decide on what you want.

And then find a business that will give you the kind of income that's necessary to help you reach your goals.  If you can do something you love, that's great!

But if the things you love aren't going to lead you to the profit you need, then find something you can do that interests you, and that will be successful. (Because once you've got the money and the time to do what you love - THEN you can do it.)

Next, write a business plan - even if you're buying a franchise, starting a part time business from your kitchen table, or you're going into a direct sales company - you need a business plan. (And it doesn't have to be a complicated thing - check your local library for a book about "one page business plans.")

The most important thing to remember about having a business plan is that it is the roadmap that is going to guide you to your ultimate destination - your goals.

Once you've got a business plan, take the next step forward. This might be finding the financing - either bootstrapping your business, finding a small business grant or loan, or even venture capital.

Stay on track - keep your ultimate target in mind. If you find that you need training, assistance or even a mentor, then do it.

Remember that you don't have to go it alone. (In fact, the most successful entrepreneurs and CEOs of large Fortune 500 companies have teams of experts that help them be successful.)

Put the necessary time into your business. No matter what you read - there is no such thing as a "Free Lunch." You're not going to find a business that is successful and makes you rich overnight, or by letting someone else do all the work.

Any real business requires time, effort and a commitment. You'll find some real business opportunities on this page.
